Abstract

This article examines the structure formation processes occurring during combined explosive plastic deformation of copper and molybdenum. Electron microscopy revealed the occurrence of anomalously rapid mass transfer and the formation of new phases during combined plastic deformation of dissimilar metals. It is shown that structural self-organization occurs at various scales. Relaxation of structural states develops in localized regions under nonlinear plastic deformation conditions. At the scale of explosively welded plates, this manifests itself as a characteristic relief of the copper-molybdenum contact zone. At the grain structure scale, the formation of dendrites and mass transfer channels is observed. At the atomic-crystalline level of the structure, relaxation manifests itself as the formation of solid solutions of components insoluble under normal conditions.
