Studies of the process of accumulation and return of deformation during repeated cycling of martensitic transformations in titanium nickelide under mechanical loading conditions have been carried out. It is noted that in addition to reversible deformation, the accumulation of residual deformation is noted in each cycle. At the same time, the higher the external load, the smaller the amount of reversible deformation due to the accumulation of a large amount of residual deformation. The accumulation of residual deformation indicates the blocking of martensitic crystals by local fields of mechanical stresses (stabilization of the martensitic phase) formed by clusters of complete dislocations as a result of phase hardening in an alloy based on titanium nickelide. These martensitic crystals no longer participate in the cycles of direct and reverse transformation. Residual deformation limits the reversible deformation life under thermomechanical loading conditions.
