Figurative lexicon of the Russian language: Metaphor in professionally oriented discourse of a foreign student

Abstract

The article deals with the figurative lexicon of the Russian language in the aspect of learning Russian as a foreign language. The research is focused on the economic discourse of foreign students/inophones of the advanced stage of learning. The author's goal is to determine which conceptual spheres are metaphorically reinterpreted in economic texts, to describe metaphorical models and to develop ways of working with metaphor when reading economic texts in Russian as a foreign language classes. The linguistic material of the study was news and analytical texts on economic topics of Russian electronic mass media.
