Cognitive aspect in teaching russian language: using the example of verb aspect

Abstract

The article considers the problem of teaching verb aspect to Mongolian-speaking and Chinese-speaking students. The author examines the problem of aspect in Chinese and Mongolian, formulates the features of the semantic field of aspectuality for both languages, and identifies those categories of aspect that coincide in Mongolian, Chinese, and Russian. The article presents the results of an experiment that, on the one hand, showed the role of aspect as a grammatical and semantic category in Chinese and Mongolian, and on the other hand, identifies problem areas associated with understanding aspect in Russian by Chinese and Mongolian students.
