Abstract

Aiming at the problems existing in the practical application of potato peeling machines, such as low peeling efficiency, high damage rate and severe wear of key components, this study takes the brush roller, the core component of the peeling machine, as the optimization object. Combined with mechanical analysis and material properties, a corresponding optimal design scheme is proposed. According to the design requirements, lightweight design is carried out for the brush roller to reduce its mass, and a mathematical model for optimal design is established. Various constraints include speed limit, stiffness condition, power limit, torsional strength limit and boundary condition limit. The optimal dimensions are obtained by running the corresponding program in MATLAB software. Then, the optimal design is carried out based on the optimal design theory, and finite element analysis is performed on the brush roller.
