The role of ethnic stereotypes in the formation of socio-cultural competence among foreign students in RLF classes
Keywords:
Russian as a foreign language; ethnic stereotypes; autostereotypes; heterostereotypes; sociocultural competenceAbstract
The article comprehends the significance of ethnic stereotypical ideas in the implementation of a sociocultural approach to teaching Russian as a foreign language (RFL). The use of national auto- and heterostereotypes in RFL classes facilitates the adaptation of foreign students in the country of target language, as well as inculturization — a deeper knowledge of one’s own culture through the prism of a foreign culture and language. The paper provides methodological techniques for working with auto- and heterostereotypes in the formation of sociocultural competence in the process of teaching Russian to foreigners.
