This article examines the didactic potential of the linguacultural approach in teaching Russian as a foreign language. According to the author, this approach, which involves identifying linguacultural concepts and, accordingly, national values reflected in the language when working with precedent texts, has a high educational and upbringing potential. Working with elements of the national linguistic picture of the world, being an important component in the process of teaching a language, allows for the simultaneous implementation of regional studies, communicative and axiological approaches. This, in turn, allows foreign students to more fully understand the characteristics of both the Russian language and culture.
